Reading round
Choose a text and a target time
Read at your own pace. The time is a personal reference for comparing rounds; you do not have to finish the text at a prescribed speed.

Start when you are ready
When you finish reading, you will continue to a short comprehension check.
How should natural reading speed be measured?
Read as you normally would. Do not skip lines or pass an unclear section merely to raise the score. Stop the timer at the end, then answer the questions without returning to the passage.
Is looking back while reading wrong?
No. A brief regression can be a natural response when meaning is lost. The aim is to notice when it is needed, not to ban it.
Can the same passage be read again?
Rereading can support learning, but the passage is familiar on the second attempt. That result is therefore not the same kind of baseline as a first reading.
